Sophie Van De Vyver
Personal stylist / fashion influencer / loves to travel in style
How are you and how’s life?
I'm in a great place right now. Life is busy, but I've found a balance that feels achievable. Last year was overwhelming with an influx of requests, and I struggled to keep up. But now, I've managed to streamline my commitments and focus on what truly matters to me. As a stylist, influencer, and color and style advisor, I wear multiple hats. However, my main profession lies in the realm of influencing. It all started just before lockdown when I began sharing my outfit inspirations online, and it took off at an incredible pace. What I noticed was a lack of inspiration for women in my age group, and that's where my strength lies - catering to women like myself who seek style inspiration and guidance.
How do you start your day?
There's no set routine for me as each day is filled with unique experiences and opportunities. However, there's one thing I make sure to do consistently - start my day by sharing an outfit in my stories. One day, I might find myself in photo shoots or personal shopping, the next day, I'm attending events or doing stylings, and I've recently joined a modeling agency, adding even more diversity to my daily experiences.
Where do you find inspiration?
A lot on the internet, of course, but I also read a lot of magazines, especially English-language ones. Hello UK & Grazia UK, also to brush up on my English. That's not always inspiration either, but also trends. How I combine it is really purely personal and by trying things out.
What’s one city you’ve always dreamed of traveling to?
Without a doubt, Japan. The allure of the East calls to me, and I find myself drawn to this continent. When I embark on my travels, I have a strong affinity for destinations with water because I crave the vastness and openness it brings.
Where do you unwind?
Cruising holds a special place in our hearts. It's a magical experience that allows us to immerse ourselves in the soothing embrace of the deep blue sea, where the rhythmic waves and expanse create an unparalleled sense of tranquility. It's in these moments that we find solace and can truly let go of the stresses of everyday life. Sun is also very important to me!
When/where do you wear your LN piece?
I already have a couple of pieces from LN. One I've had for years, and the other I knitted myself! I always take them with me wherever I go because for me, they are pieces that give you just a little bit of extra warmth and comfort. So I often take them with me on holiday or when I'm traveling. For me, it really is an essential. I love how pure the materials are and they're timeless. I’ll keep them forever.
Do you have a life motto?
My pet peeve is of course Sophisticated (from Sophisticatedbox), always looking neat, that's what I want to stand for. Inspire others and try to be a role model.
What do you want to do in 10 years?
That's a tough one because I'll be 67 years old *laughs. I hope I get to do what I am doing now for as long as possible, I really love my job. Other than that, I just hope I stay healthy and have the chance to be with the people I love most. Within 3 years we will move to a flat & then I will also stop the styling studio at my current home. We'll see what the future holds!
